Event follow-up: We had a great 6K day on May 20 in Copenhagen! We had 95 registered participants, and we raised $4,076 so far. Cheryl Steiner finished first in 28 minutes and 34 seconds. Kaden Tiberend took second, and Dylan Petrie was third. Adym Herzberg carried the most water - 40 pounds - back to the finish line. Bryant Moser is our top individual fundraiser so far with $350. Thank you to all our participants, volunteers and financial supporters. We raised enough money for lasting clean water for 81 people! Zachary Makuch sponsored a 12-year-old girl named Cynthia from Rwanda, and Rebekah Widrick sponsored 3-year-old Dorine from Burundi. Rwanda and Burundi are both small countries in Africa.
Here are our 2023 non-virtual team members:
DATE: Saturday, May 20, 2023
TIME: 9 a.m.
LOCATION: Copenhagen Central School OR virtual option - when and where you want!
THIS SPRING, CHANGE A LIFE. Join thousands of people across the globe in our mission to bring life-changing clean water and fullness of life to children in communities around the world.
Walk, run, or push a stroller with us at the World Vision Global 6K for Water. Each registration provides lasting clean water to a child, like the child on your race bib!
This is a 6-kilometer (3.7 miles) run/walk to raise money for water projects in developing countries. Adult registration is $50, which is the average cost to provide lasting clean water to one person, and youth 18 and younger are $25.
Participants each receive a T-shirt, finisher medal and a unique race bib featuring the name and photo of a child who will benefit from World Vision water projects. The children on the race bibs may also be sponsored through World Vision.
To register, click on “Join our team." Registrations will be accepted through race day (you just may not get your T-shirt and race bib until after the event).
To donate to the team’s $5,000 fundraising goal, click on “Support us.” To donate to a participant's individual fundraising efforts, click on the roster and find the participant you want to support.
